Dorothy Spencer passed away peacefully on September 22, 2019 surrounded by her loving family. Born in Cleveland, Ohio on April 25, 1928, she graduated from John Hay High School and worked as an Executive Secretary for the White Motors Corporation until she retired in the 1980's and subsequently moved to Arizona in 1994.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband Charles (Chuck) as they were married 56 years. While serving in the Army during WWII, Chuck and Dorothy became pen pals and their affection for each other grew. Chuck, a Purple Heart Veteran, and Dorothy married in 1947. They had two children, Charles and Sandra, who is married to Wade. Dorothy has three grandchildren, Christina, Spencer and Jennifer. She is survived by her sister Lillian Koesel.
Dorothy was very social and adored her family and friends both near and far. She was a loving and supportive mother and grandmother. She was always there to lend an ear and offer her sage advice. She had many interests. She enjoyed going to the movies, ballet and live performances. She attended Silver Sneaker classes, bingo and church with her friends. Dorothy never missed Sunday football and loved playing slots. Lady Luck smiled on her often while on her numerous Vegas trips!
Her sassy yet candid thoughts and words of wisdom will live in our hearts and minds and will always make us smile. She was the glue that held us together and she will be dearly missed!
