Jack's Story

Gil was born in Belton, Texas to the late Jack Gilbert White, Sr. and late Margaret Patricia Jones White. He graduated from Mesa High School and joined the Army. Gil served in Vietnam as a medic in the 3/5 Cavalry. He earned a Purple Heart for his service in Vietnam. Gil worked for the US Postal Service for many years until retirement. Gil loved the outdoors, 4-wheeling, camping, photography, and hunting. He had a great appreciation for Native American history and art. He will be greatly missed by many friends and family. He was preceded in death by his loving wife Julie Louise White and stepson Jaron Earl Green. He is survived by his son Jared White, wife Sarah White, and two grandchildren of Washington, PA; stepson Joel Green and three grandchildren of Mesa, AZ; stepdaughter Jeena Olive Green and two grandchildren of Denver, CO; daughter Laura Peterson, husband Cole Peterson, and three grandchildren of Scottsdale, AZ; brother Patrick White of Glorieta, NM; and sister Susan Potter of Lago Vista, TX. There will be a private ceremony at the family's discretion.
