Nona Marie Stewart, 78, passed peacefully in her sleep while in hospice care at her home in Phoenix, Arizona on July 27, 2019.
She was born January 23, 1941 in Snowflake, Arizona to Homer Jones and Maxine Jones. She grew up in Holbrook, Arizona where she attended grade school and high school.
She married Myron Maxwell on November 16, 1956. They welcomed three children, Steven, Shawna and Monty before divorcing in 1965.
While living in Holbrook, she worked as a telephone operator at Western States Telephone. She ultimately moved to Phoenix, AZ and worked as a line supervisor for Motorola.
She married William "Bill" Stewart on March 25, 1967 in Las Vegas, Nevada. They welcomed three children, Sheldon, Erin and Heather.
She was an avid book reader. She studied astrology, sociology, and other human studies topics. She enjoyed sharing the knowledge she acquired with family and friends.
Nona was fortunate enough to be a part of five generations of females twice in her lifetime. The first time was with her grandmother, Alice Hatch Crandell, in 1977, when her granddaughter was born. The second time was with her mother, Maxine Jones Zabojnik, in 1997, when her great granddaughter was born.
Nona is survived by her loving husband Bill, their three children: Sheldon Stewart of San Francisco, California, Erin (Jeffrey) Hugus of Chandler, Arizona and Heather Stewart of Chandler, her ex-husband Myron Maxwell Holbrook and their three children: Steven (Debbie) Maxwell of Safford, Arizona, Shawna (Glen) Simon of Phoenix, Arizona and Monty Maxwell of Holbrook, her sister Joanne (Vance) Holstein of Glendale, Arizona. She is survived by 15 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.
She is predeceased by her parents, her stepfather, Joseph Zabojnik, and her brothers John Jones, Harvey Jones and Casey Jones.

There will be no funeral service. Details on a Celebration of Life service forthcoming.
She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother and her family loved her with all their hearts.
