ESHIMA , Dennis Dennis Eshima, 64, of Phoenix, Arizona, passed away on August 7, 2017 after a long battle with cancer and related complications. He was a beloved father, brother, son, husband, inventor, role model, teacher and friend. Dennis was born in Wattsonville, California on July 14, 1953. He worked in his grandfather’s drug store with his brother and sister in his youth. He graduated from George Washington High School and went on to earn his undergraduate degree from The University of Colorado Boulder. Dennis then proceeded to conduct research at the University of Utah where he was directly involved in the development of Tc99m-MAG3, a radiolabeled pharmaceutical agent that vastly improves the monitoring of kidneys in the body. This accomplishment earned him his PhD where he then went on to teach at the University of New Mexico as an Assistant Professor of Pharmacy and later at Emory University as a Professor of Radiology. Following his career as a teacher, he eventually became Vice President of Product Development at Cardinal Health where he provided important guidance for the building of cyclotrons for applications in radiopharmacy. He later started a company, ec 2 Software Solutions, with two close friends and business partners, Scott and Leroy. This company grew to become his second family. He worked remainder of his later years here in content. As a father, he taught his three boys, Jarrett, Erik, and Grayson to be strong, creative, intelligent, and hard-working. Dennis worked tirelessly to ensure a bright future was possible for his children. He enjoyed new experiences and sharing that time with those he cared about. Anyone that knew him can attest to his bright smile and infectious laugh. His positive attitude and uplifting personality will be greatly missed. The family would like to thank everyone who has provided support during this time and to those that came to the hospital in his final days. The memorial service was held at Arizona Buddhist Temple on Saturday, August 12th at 10am. Please Sign the Guestbook at: ahwatukee.com
