Plano, TX - Janette "Jan" Zunchich, aged 89, passed away peacefully on May 11th at the home of her daughter in Plano, Texas. Jan was born November 6, 1935 in Royal Oak Michigan to parents Mary Schum and Edwin Merkel.

Jan was preceded in death by her husband of 25 years, Michael Zunchich, who passed away in November, 2019, and step-daughter Laurel in July, 2015.

Jan was a devout catholic, and an active member of several congregations over the years. Jan had a long career in business and industry, working in accounting and as a program administrator for Motorola in Arizona. There she met her second husband, Mike, and they spent their retirement riding and participating in Goldwing Road Riders Association events and rallies.

Jan is survived by two of her sisters, Dorothy and Mary (Kass), her three children, Mary Beth (Ted), Sean and Colleen (TJ), her son-in-law Brett, her grandchildren Barrett, Luna, Alexi, Ronan, Ryley and Kirsa and many nieces and nephews.

We will celebrate Jan's life with a Memorial Funeral at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church, on July 14, 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Mary's Food Bank, or Special Olympics.
