Ahwatukee - Katarina "Kathy" Ebert, 83, passed away February 27, 2026, with family at her side. Kathy was born and grew up in Bratislava, Slovakia, where she married Emil (d. 2011) and had two children Roman and Renee.
She worked as a high school physical education teacher before immigrating to the Chicago area in the 1960s with her family, where she worked at Robert Bosch Corporation for more than 20 years before moving to Phoenix in 1995. There she continued her lifelong passion for teaching, becoming a Montessori educator known as "Miss Kathy" to generations of students.
She is survived by her children, Roman (Laura) and Renee (Steve), eight grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. Her written tribute can be found at www.altogetherfuneral.com. Donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
