Maewyn C Ballard (Quinn) Obituary

Apache Junction, AZ - Maewyn "Quinn" Ballard (Willis), a kind and gentle soul, passed away at the age of 74 on July 16, 2025. Born on December 10, 1950 in a small town in Texas, Maewyn lived a vibrant life marked by a fervent commitment to the well-being of others, a pursuit of knowledge, and the creation of beauty in its myriad forms.

With parents in the aerospace industry, she and her brother spent their childhood in over a dozen different towns throughout the United States until she turned 18 and began to extensively travel. During those travels she eventually met Phil, with whom she married, then had a son, which landed her in Denver where she finally settled down and had another child, Chata. Maewyn dedicated herself to a career in nursing and healthcare which were a perfect match for her big heart and sharp mind. She imparted comfort and wisdom to countless individuals, selflessly attending to their needs with a steadfast devotion that made her both respected and beloved in her profession.

Phil Ballard, her loving husband who unfortunately preceded her in death, was her partner in both life and love. Their union was blessed with the joy of two remarkable children, Daimon and Chata. Maewyn reveled in her role as a mother, raising her son and daughter with the same tenderness and wisdom she applied to all her endeavors. The family she nurtured stands as a testament to the depth of her affection and the guidance she so generously provided.

Maewyn was a spiritual individual, guided by an inner faith that was as personal as it was profound. She carried this serene sense of purpose into all aspects of her life, cultivating a peaceful haven for her family and anyone fortunate enough to cross her path.

A talented artist, Maewyn found solace and joy in painting and creating. She captured the world's beauty on canvas, creating images that reflected her love for life and nature. An avid reader, she was often found with a book in hand, lost in stories and knowledge that allowed her to travel the world through words. These interests were not just hobbies but integral parts of who she was—avenues for her intelligence and creativity to intertwine and flourish.

Maewyn's life was one of loving gestures, thoughtful words, and an intelligence that shone brightly even in her final moments. She embraced life's adventures with a youthful zeal that never waned, inspiring those around her to do the same. Her passing leaves behind a void that will be deeply felt by her family, friends, colleagues, and all the lives she touched.

Her memory will be carried forward in the hearts of her children, Daimon (and his wife Dalana) and Chata (and her husband Tim), and her grandchildren Zoe, Darian and Danika, along with the countless individuals who were graced by her generosity, her spirit, and her wisdom. Maewyn's legacy is one of love—a love that endures beyond her presence on this earth and continues to illuminate the paths of those she loved.

In honoring Maewyn Ballard, we celebrate a life splendidly lived and a woman greatly adored. Her journey on this earth may have ended, but the impressions she made are indelible, painting an exquisite portrait of a life well-loved and lived to the absolute fullest. With her the world was blessed, but has a large void without her. She will be interred next to her husband at Grand Lake, Colorado.
